Jasper's Varsity Lady Dawgs' softball team hosted the Lady Roughriders from Center is a scheduled 6:30 pm contest on Friday evening. It was "Senior Night" for the Lady Dawgs and they ended their season undefeated (10 - 0) in district play, defeating Center by a final score of 15 - 5 in five innings.

Both teams went scoreless in the first inning. Jasper picked up one run in the second inning on a HOME RUN by Marlee Dockins-Gilbert. Jasper exploded for ten runs in the third inning on nine hits, including a two run HOME RUN by Kiarra Sells and a GRAND SLAM by Sells in her second at bat of the inning. Jasper added four more runs in the fourth inning on four hits giving them the total of 15 runs.

Center was able to score two runs in the fourth inning and three more in the top of

the fifth, but was unable to overcome the ten run deficit after five innings of play.

Jasper's BIG HITTER of the night was Kiarra Sells with 3 hits in 3 at bats and 7 RBIS, including a two run homer and GRAND SLAM! Other players with multiple hits were Madison Smith, Marlee Dockins-Gilbert, Aimee Coleson, Zoey Koehn and Kalani Sells with two hits each.

Aimee Coleson allowed 5 runs on just 2 hits and recorded 5 strikeouts in her five innings of work.

Jasper will face the #4 seed of District 18-4A in the bi-district round. Currently, Madisonville & Waco La Vega are tied for that fourth spot with records of 3 - 7. A playoff will likely be needed to determine who will face Jasper in the first round of playoffs.
