A celebration of the life of Kathy Braswell, age 66, of Jasper, Texas will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home. A native of Jasper and former resident of Woodville, Kathy passed away at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas on June 23. A long-time resident of Jasper, Kathy attended Jasper public schools and was active in the JHS band where she was a twirler and head-twirler. She graduated in 1970 and attended Kilgore Junior College and Lamar University. For many years, she served as a letter carrier with the US Post Office in Woodville and retired from that position.

Kathy was always artistic, and friends and family still enjoy her paintings and drawings in their homes. She was an avid reader and took special pleasure in cooking and spending time with friends. She loved her cat Kern who gladly returned her affection. Kathy’s warm smile, clever sense of humor, and caring heart made her a loyal, treasured friend to so many who will miss her deeply.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Karen Braswell Belew Hubbard and husband, Paul; a niece, Kristin Belew; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert George Braswell and Beatrice Smith Braswell.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
