Deacon OM Levias Jr. was born On November 7, 1931 to the blessed union of the late OM Levias, Sr., and the late Lottie Bell( Scott) Levias.

He attended and graduated from Biloxi High School in Newton County, TX. After high school he spent two years at Huston Tillisoton College in Austin, Tx. Deacon Levias served active duty service in the U.S. Army from October 22, 1953 to October 4, 1955 ending with an Honorable Release from Service. Deacon OM Levias followed in his father’s footstep as a Logging Contractor and a Cattle Rancher, being the owner of Levias Logging and Levias Farms. His work experience included being the first logging contractor (OM Sr & Sons) to haul the first load of pulpwood logs into O & I Orange Mill-Orange, Tx and worked as many as forty two men from Jasper, Newton, Tyler, and Hardin Counties. Deacon OM work ethics and community status made him fruitful and favorable to all those who came in contact with him.

Deacon OM was raised in a Christian home and was greatly influenced by the teaching and life of his father and mother. He was raised in the Call Community Church of God in Christ under the late Supt. H.J. Simon and under Elder Ted J. Williams. He then returned to the Old Field Church of God in Christ and was very instrumental in the building of the new church under Elder Jerry Haynes. Deacon OM served faithfully under Bishop Kurt L Thompson, Supt. Hal Jefferson and his current pastor, Supt. Jeffery Adams, Sr., who he “ loved as a Son.” Deacon OM loved the church and worked diligently in numerous capacities which included Church Finance Officer, Sunday School Superintendent / Teacher and an Ordained Deacon. His favorite book of the bible was the book of Proverbs. He often quoted many scriptures from the Book of Proverbs. Deacon OM served as President of the Biloxi Evergreen Cemetery

Association and was awarded The Texas Southeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ Unsung Hero Award under Bishop Rufus Kyles, Jr. Deacon OM departed this life on Friday, June 27, 2019 @ 6:30PM. He is preceded in death by his parents, his one and only brother-Scottie, children-Nathaniel Levias, Sr., Chrisandra Levias, Tempe Kenebrew, Toni Hudson and Cheryl Hall. He leaves to perpetuate his memory his beloved Wife-Caroline, four sons-Michael Hall, Sr., (Emma), Oscar Levias (Fay), Dennis Hall, Delbert Hall, one daughter, Theronda Cauley(Harold), twenty two(22) grand children, twenty four (24) great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, god children and friends, all of whom he loved very dearly.

We thank God for the spiritual blessings of 87 years, 7 months and 21 days. Deacon OM memory and love will forever be kept alive through his loving spirit that he had for his families and friends. “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.” Proverbs 3:13

Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Greater Old Field C.O.G.I.C.; 3529 FM 4065 @ FM 1416 Bon Wier, TX 75928. Interment will follow at the Biloxi Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper.
