A Graveside Service to celebrate the life of Gladys Woods Lindsey, age 86, of Longview, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Hancock Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the cemetery.
Gladys died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at her home in Longview, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Peachtree Community in Jasper County and a longtime resident of Longview, Texas, she owned and operated Unique Weddings and Catering in Longview, Texas, for many years. She and her husband Tommy traveled extensively in their motor home. She was a member of the Longview Missionary Baptist Church.
Gladys is survived by her two sons, Randy Lindsey and wife Micki of Longview, Texas, and Rick Lindsey of Center, Texas; and her sister and best friend, Louise Branson, of Houston, Texas. She was grandmother “Nana” to Bradley Lindsey and wife Kristina, Kevin Lindsey, Chris Lindsey and wife Hannah, Laura Lindsey, Lexi Lindsey, Sara Lindsey and Kolten Lindsey. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John Tommy Lindsey; her parents, Carl C. and Minnie Woods; a son, John David Lindsey; four brothers, Raymond Woods, Truman Woods, Cade Woods, and Olan Woods; and four sisters, Ruby Coker, Verble Harrell, Edith Crenshaw, and Opal Woods.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
