A graveside service will be held for Douglas “Jack” Letney in the Townsend Cemetery, Broaddus, Texas.

A native of Powell Town in San Augustine County, Texas and a former resident of Austin, Texas.  He had lived the past 22 years in Midway, Texas.   He loved his Men’s Sunday school class where he attended Midway Baptist Church.

Douglas retired after many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Capital Aggregates.

He enjoyed doing puzzels, playing solitare, gardening and playing on his computer.  He enjoyed watching old westerns such as Gun Smoke, the Rifleman, the Virginian, Rawhide, Bonanza and he also enjoyed wrestling.  Jack loved his dog, “Little Man”.

Douglas is survived by his daughter, Ima Jean Morgan and husband Jeremy, Midway, Texas and brother, Lester Letney of Livingston, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Letney & Linda Joachimi Townsend, and wife of 62 years, Inez Powell Letney.

Douglas is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  He was also survived by a host of other relatives and special granddaughters.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
