Joe Hickman, Sr. “Joe Boy”, age 83, a United States Air Force Veteran and resident of Burkeville, Texas, transitioned on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in the Cedar Grove Community off FM 1414, Newton County, TX. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary Jasper, Texas.

Mr. Joe Hickman, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Douglas Foster and Katherine Hickman; his wife, Ms. Janet Tompkins, and one son, Paul Hickman.

He leaves to mourn: one sister, Mrs. Billie P. Brailsford of Abilene, Texas; two sons, Keith Hickman and Joe Hickman, Jr. (LaDonna) of Newton, Texas; and one daughter, LaTanga Hickman of Beaumont, Texas. He has sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One Godson, Joseph Fowler II of Beaumont, TX, and best friend, Gene Davis. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
