Edna Mae Anselem, 96, of Woodville, passed away, Monday, February 15, 2021 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Edna was born September 1, 1924 to George & Anna McClellan Anselem in Lawtell, Louisiana. She had lived in Texas most of her life, but she was a Cajun at heart. She enjoyed all sports, especially basketball, having excelled through her high school years in basketball. She also enjoyed bowling and had been on a bowling league while living in Houston. One of her favorite past times was traveling and seeing the world. Edna loved people, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus and had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Anna Anselem. sisters, Eunice Derouen, Gladys Smith, Barbara Foster, Lucille Derouen and Joyce Miller; brothers, Ray Anselem, L.G. Anselem and Archie Anselem.
Left to cherish her memory is her special adoptive sister, Nelda Johnston of Woodville; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
