Bennie Francis Forse, 83, of Woodville, passed away, Saturday, October 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at her residence.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Woodville with burial in Campground Cemetery in Woodville. Officiating will be Pastor Charles R. Hatcher and Pastor Leo Wright. Serving as pallbearers will be David Cotton, Timothy Wiley, Anthony Wiley, Danny Wiley, Justin Burns, and Scott Yosko. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Fountain, Johnny Swafford, Gary Cotton, James Wiley, Charles Russell, Ted Boroski, and Daniel Burns.
Bennie was born April 2, 1936 to Benjamin & Winnie Oleta Stewart Hatcher in Liberty, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Woodville and had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Woodville Chapter #462. She also served many years as a judge for the Tyler County Dogwood Festival parade. Most importantly she was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Inspired by the service of her family Bennie had a profound respect and admiration for our country, and especially for those who served in our armed forces. A lover of nature and animals, she loved to fish and travel to visit God’s most breathtaking creations. Unable to travel in her final years, Bennie would spend many joyful hours watching the birds from her back patio.
Bennie was a beautiful, graceful and loving person who brightened the lives of everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin & Winnie Oleta Stewart Hatcher; her husband of 54 years, Don Truitt Forse, Sr.; sisters, Mary Lou Mitchell, Winifred Cotton, Oleta Hatcher, Cornelia Fountain, and Addie Wiley; and an infant son.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Forse of Woodville, Janice Forse of Beaumont, Oleta Forse Fuller & husband, Dennis of Spring, Phillis Forse Messina & husband, Onofrio of Georgetown; son, Donald Truitt Forse, Jr. & wife, Becky of Round Rock; grandchildren, Rachelle ZenZen & husband, Scott, Laura Fitzpatrick & husband, Justin, Emily McVety & husband, Joseph, Britton Elizabeth Forse and Truitt Walker Forse; great grandchildren, Ethan Scott ZenZen, Maryssa ZenZen, Stetson Roy McVety, and Eleanor Marie McVety.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
