Bo Peep Patrick Haltom, 76, died at her home Monday, July 8, 2019. She was born May 15th, 1943 at 12:31am at St. Marys Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas, to Richard Core Patrick and Minnie Alice Wilson. She was a 1961 graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School where she was Homecoming Queen and a drum major for the Red Hussar all female band. She also, graduated from Port Arthur Business College. Bo Peep married Forrest Edward (Sonny) Haltom Jr. on June 16th, 1962. Sonny was the love of her life for 57 years. The couple moved to Newton in 1974 where together they raised their three big boys.

She loved to cook. There was always something prepared in the kitchen whether you were hungry or not. She was happiest when her kitchen was full of family. You could find her most days in her garden. She had a green thumb like no other. She loved the color purple, but nothing compared to a card game with her grandbabies.

She was an avid member of the Eastern Star for many years, serving as the Esther and also Treasurer.

Bo was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Alice Wilson, and Richard Core Patrick, and brother Pete Patrick.

She was survived by her loving husband, Forrest Edward (Sonny) Haltom, sons, Forrest Edward (Ed) Haltom lll, and wife Renee’ of Bleakwood, Richard Chad Haltom, and wife Lori of Beaumont, and Nathan Scott Haltom, and wife Misty. Nine grandchildren, Cameron Chase Haltom, and wife Bethany of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Dylan Kain Haltom and wife Lauren, of Marble Falls, Texas. Tristin Smith, Taylor Hall, Joshua Haltom, Kharma Haltom, Natalie Haltom, Connor Haltom, and Khloe Haltom. Also, five great-grandchildren, Parker, Cooper, Oakley, Adelynn, and arriving soon Baby Haltom. Also, numerous other beloved family members.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.

Funeral services will be on Friday July 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at Smith Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bleakwood Cemetery.
