A Celebration of Odine Miller’s life, age 85, will be Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Weeks Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

Odine Miller passed away from this life, Tuesday, October 15, 2019, surrounded by loved ones, at his home in Newton County, Texas.

Odine was born on September 8, 1934, a native of Brookeland. TX. He has lived in Newton, TX for the past 36 years. He loved hunting, fishing, rock and arrow head hunting, and traveling with his wife Pat. He loved to play guitar and sing. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was a surveyor for the Sabine River Authority and retired after over 20 years of service. He surveyed Lake Sam Rayburn, Lake Livingston and Toledo Bend Lake.

Odine was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Pat Miller, his mother Virgie Miller and his daughter Dianne Byerly.

He is survived by his children, Debra and Kenneth Jones of Kirbyville, TX; Richard Miller of Fort Worth, TX; Ronny and Sharon Miller of Jasper, TX; and Denese and Ken Primrose of Jasper, TX; special family friend; David McDonald; his grandchildren, Stevie Jones, Randy and Jody Jones, Scotty and Kristenn Jones; Lachelle and Damon Williams; Leslie and Steve Seely; Jami and Kendall Durham; Kala and Clayton Foltyn; Christie and J.W. Lindsey; Kirk Johnston; Kandi Johnston; Koty and Amber Johnston; and Kenneth Jones; Twenty six great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the East Texas Pregnancy Help Center or the Salvation Army
