Henry Lee Williams was born October 5, 1940, to the late Daisy Price Williams and James Williams. He was a resident of Jasper and Newton County. He departed this life on February 4, 2020.
He accepted Christ at an early age joining the Holy Sanctified Church under the Reverend Gregory Chambers. Henry attended J H Rowe High School in Jasper, TX.
On February 3, 1975, he met and married Lillian Samuel and to this union no children were born. Henry and Lillian were together many years until his death. Henry worked at Harts Lumber in Jasper, TX, as a Saw Teller. Henry resided in Jasper, TX, until his health failed then he moved to Newton, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Troy Ashworth, and five sisters, Rose Nelson, Dorothy Adams, Lola Grant, Vera Carter, and Adrella Mattox.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories: one brother, Johnny (Audrey) Williams, and three sisters, Ola Mae Lefer, Daisy Lee Hadnot, and Emma (Billy) Pittman, all of Jasper, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. One special friend Ruthie Henderson.
Funeral service will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas. Viewing will be held 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to service. Interment will follow at the Gilgal Cemetery in Jasper, TX., under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper, TX.
