Dorothy Doris Ener, 93, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Hemphill Care Center.
Doris was born in Remlig, Texas on April 13, 1926 to Amos Hambrick and Elizabeth Rhodes Hambrick. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed baking for her family.
Doris married E. W. Ener on February 17, 1948. They lived in George West, Texas before returning to Sabine County in 1984. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hemphill and a member of the Eastern Star.
Doris is survived by her husband of 71 years, Earman Wilburn (E. W.) Ener, Jr. of Hemphill; daughters, Carol West and husband, Harvey, of Telephone, Texas and Angie Elizabeth Ener of Lufkin; granddaughter, Cathy Pierce and husband, John, of Wylie, Texas; grandson-in-law, Shawn Fulton of Telephone; great grandchildren, Ashley Fulton, Jaci Fulton, Ryan Fulton, Brandon Pierce, and Haley Lubbeck; and great-great grandchildren, Tatum Free and Malea Faulkner.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tina Fulton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at First Baptist Church, 301 Mann Street, Hemphill, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Rev. Cole Clark officiating.
Burial will follow services in Hemphill Cemetery.
