A celebration of Betty Joyce Weeks Kayser’s life, age 82, of Jasper, TX will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2019 the funeral home.

Betty died August 6, 2019 at her home in Jasper. A native of Waco, TX, Betty was a longtime Jasper resident. She was a 1955 graduate of Garland High School. She then attended Texas Tech and received her Bachelor of Science Degree 1958 and her Master Degree from North Texas in 1961.

Betty was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper, a member of the Happy Years Sunday School Class, the Woman’s Civic Club of Jasper and the Retired Teachers Association. Betty loved Southern Gospel music, traveling, crafts and spending time with her family and church family.

Betty is survived by her sons, James Kayser of Jasper, TX and Ronnie Kayser and wife Kathy of Azel, TX; daughters, Charlotte Jaynes and husband Mike from Boerne, TX and Tanda Douglas and husband Randy from Fort Davis, TX; sister Edith Chambers and husband Bill of Spring, TX; fourteen grandchildren and a host of greatgrandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Charles Kayser; her parents, Allen and Mattie Ruth Weeks; daughter, Linda Ruth Kayser; brother, Charles Leroy Weeks and sister Margret Clark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 314 North Main Street, Jasper, TX 75951.
