A Celebration of Ira Hogan’s Life, age 88, of Jasper, TX, will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2020 at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs, TX. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, TX.
Ira died at his residence on Monday, May 18, 2020 in Jasper, TX. He was a native of Leesville, LA and a longtime resident of Jasper, TX. Ira was in the United States Army, serving in Korea War from 1951 to 1953. Ira retired from Texas Department of Transportation (TX DOT) after over 26 years of service. He liked hunting, fishing and was a member of the Church of Christ in Jasper, TX.
Ira is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Ina Lou Hogan of Jasper, TX; his son, Tim Hogan and wife Betty of Diboll, TX; three brothers, Frank Hogan of Newton, TX; Willie Hogan and wife Glenda of Kirbyville, TX, and Mack Hogan, Jr. and wife Barbara of Mauriceville, TX; four sisters, Beatrice Moore of San Antonio, TX; Betty Ruth Silver of North Carolina; Mary Ellen DuPema of Baton Rouge, LA and Brenda Jean Jefferson and husband John of Newton, TX; two grandchildren, Sherry Kay Hogan and Crystal DeAnn Hogan; five great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mack and Daisy Hogan; son, Phil Hogan; sister, Lois Scaggs; and two brothers, Fred Hogan and Donald Hogan.
