Robert Eastern Carl, Jr., 90, of Woodville, passed away, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his residence.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 beginning at 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Woodville with burial to follow in Egypt Cemetery in Colmesneil. Officiating will be Dr. Jay Abernathy, Dr. Raymond A. Parker and Brother Mark Tolar. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Darville, Jonathan Carl, Andrew Darville, Michael Carl, Zachary Carl and Seth Carl. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Carl.
Robert was born July 17, 1930 to Robert Eastern, Sr. & Estelle Miller Carl in Camden, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Tyler County and was retired from Texaco as a Rigger. He had served on the Board of Texaco Credit Union as President for 15 years. In his retirement days, he became the man to call when you needed something fixed. Robert could fix just about anything and never hesitated when called by his fellowman to come fix something. He was a dedicated family man, who loved his family, but most of all, he loved the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Woodville and had served for many years as a Deacon. Robert also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Army veteran who had served our country in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Estell Carl; brother, Earnest Lee Carl; sister, Joyce Best and Rita Chandler.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gay Carl of Woodville; daughter, Debbie Darville & husband, Roy of Marshall; sons, Keith Carl & wife, Lori of Port Neches and Kevin Carl & wife, Peggy of Buna; brother, James Carl of Nederland; sister, Eunice Vinson of Chester and Ann Adkinson & husband, Ira of Porter; grandchildren, Brian Darville, Andrew Darville & wife, Heather, Mattie Riu & husband, Tim, Michael Carl & wife, Laura, Alison Carl, Emily Carl, Amy Tallerita & husband, Beau, Zachary Carl & wife, Channing, Seth Carl, Chloe Carl, Sophie Carl, Jonathan Carl & wife, Jessica and Matthew Carl & wife, Melissa; great grandchildren, Kyson Darville, Blake Darville, Emerald Riu, Felix Riu, Annette Carl and Charlotte Carl; and special friend, Jimmy Telford.
