A longtime employee of the Jasper County District Clerk’s Office who has been serving as the Interim District Clerk for over a year has officially signed on to run for election to the position.
Rosa Norsworthy, who began working for Jasper County in 2007 and she started work in the District Clerk’s Office in 2018, was appointed by State District Judges Delinda Gibbs-Walker and Craig Mixson to serve out the unexpired term of former District Clerk Kathy Kent, who retired mid-term in September of 2020.
Norsworthy, who is running on the GOP ticket, signed the paperwork with Jasper County Republican Party Chair Johnny Gravis.
In an announcement on social media, Norsworthy wrote “…I have worked for Jasper County for 14 years. I ask for your support so that I may continue to serve my community as your District Clerk. I have God, my husband, Michael Norsworthy, our boys, Simon Isaí Mijares and Alex Mijares, my family and friends who love and support me. I am truly blessed.”
Norsworthy will be seeking the Republican Party nomination in the March 2022 Primary Race, and if nominated she’ll be on the Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 ballot.
