Jasper football place-kicker and punter Alex Mijares is in the running for VYPE SETX Magazine’s Special Teams Player of the Year, and early on in the voting he leads the pole.

Votes are being cast by the readers of the magazine’s website in a poll powered by Parisi Speed School. As of early Monday afternoon Mijares had 54% of the vote, trailed by Beaumont West Brook’s Kevin Linares with 40% of the vote.
