County and state law enforcement officials were busy over the weekend searching both on the ground and from the air for a former U.S. Army Ranger who was said to be missing and possibly suicidal.
Jasper County deputies along with Texas Parks & Wildlife game wardens were searching on Sunday afternoon on and around Lake Sam Rayburn. Part of their effort utilized a helicopter which landed and launched from Umphrey Family Pavilion on Recreational Road 255.
The name of the man is not yet known and the only information known about him is that he is from the Houston area.
Officers were unable to locate him on Sunday and they began searching again on Monday morning.
