Hemphill firefighters were just beginning to train water onto the house as heavy smoke poured out.

A house on the northwest side of Hemphill was damaged by flames and smoke late Monday morning. Daily News & More is reporting that it happened in the 400 block of Starr Street, which is Texas State Highway 184, and directly across from Starr Funeral Home.

Hemphill firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from the one-story wood frame structure, and they quickly went to work to contain the fire and save the structure.

It’s unknown what may have been the cause of the blaze, and Daily News & More was not reporting any injuries.
