A Kirbyville man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault in Sabine County. Daile News And More in Hemphill reports that 42-year-old Wesley Eugene Horton is currently in the Sabine County Jail under a second degree felony charge of sexual assault, and his bond was set at $20,000.00. The report noted that Horton also had a parole violation warrant.
According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged incident occurred following a party at a house in Sabine County on Saturday, August 10th.
The affidavit said that after the gathering was breaking up, the alleged victim was asleep on a couch and her fiancé was asleep on a nearby love seat. The report said the woman awakened to find Horton on top of her, and he allegedly said "Don't scream. This won't hurt".
However, the report said that she did scream and fought off Horton, which awakened her boyfriend. At that point, Horton fled from the house and the alleged victim called 911.
He was later arrested and booked into the Sabine County Jail in Hemphill.
