The backhoe landing right side up, but the trailer flipped over upside down in the highway.

A witness says the brakes on a large trailer suddenly locked up, causing a truck, trailer, and the equipment it was hauling to be involved in a mishap late Wednesday afternoon on Recreational Road 255, just west of Sam Rayburn Dam.

Emergency crews arrived to find the large Dodge Ram 1-ton dually truck and its trailer off of the highway. Although the truck was upright, the trailer had turned over.

On the highway, also sitting upright, was a small Caterpillar brand track hoe that had been dumped off of the trailer.

A witness traveling behind the truck said that all of a sudden the trailer brakes locked up, causing it to go out of control.

Luckily, the driver of the truck was not injured and no vehicles were traveling in the opposite lane.

The volunteers of both the Angelina River and Lake Rayburn Fire Departments were called to the scene to assist in control of the traffic and also to assist in the clean up and removal of the truck and trailer from the highway.
