Daily News & More is reporting that a Sabine County man has been arrested and faces seventeen child pornography charges after deputies found pornographic images of children on his cell phone, some as young as 5-years-old.
According to the report, it began in October 2019 with 58-year-old Randy Savoy, of Hemphill, allegedly taking nude photos of a woman without her consent while she was asleep. The report said the woman told investigating deputies that when Savoy pulled bed sheets off of her it awoke her, but she pretended to still be asleep while he took photos.
The woman said she later looked into Savoy’s cell phone without his knowledge and found the photos of herself, so she contacted law enforcement.
An arrest affidavit said that when deputies looked into Savoy’s cell phone, they found numerous pornographic images of girls ranging in age from 5 to 16.
Savoy is now charged with twelve 3rd degree felony counts of possession of child pornography, and five felony counts of possession/promoting lewd visual material depicting a child. His bond was set at $170,000.00 and at last word he remained in the Sabine County Jail.
Meanwhile, Savoy also faces charges related to allegedly taking photos of the nude woman without her consent.
