KJAS News has obtained a probable cause affidavit filed by Pineland Police Chief Bradley Turner which followed a 14-year-old Sabine County girl’s allegation that she was sexually assaulted, resulting in the arrest of 18-year-old Terrien Shayveon Collins, of Jasper.

In the affidavit police say Collins admitted in interviews that he was there, but denies that he had sex with the young girl. We also learned that there was a witness to the alleged crime, and possibly the most important piece of information to come out – cops say they found evidence at the scene of the alleged crime.

The affidavit claims that the sexual assault occurred sometime after midnight on Wednesday, April 8th in the backseat of a car on a dirt road in Pineland, and four people were present; Collins, along with a 14-year-old male from Jasper, a 14-year-old girl who is the alleged victim, and her female friend, who is an alleged witness.

The affidavit stated that the alleged victim told police that she and her female friend snuck out of her house at about midnight and were picked up by Collins and the male juvenile, and they were driven to the location where the alleged crime occurred.

According to the affidavit, the 14-year-old boy first had sex with the girl as she said that she was telling him to stop, screaming, and kicking the windows of the car.

The affidavit said that Collins also had sex with the girl as well.

According to the affidavit, the alleged victim stated that she later told her sister what had happened.

Police stated in the affidavit that they went to the location where the girl told them that the alleged crime occurred, and on the side of the road they found two opened Trojan brand condom wrappers, and two used condoms, all of which was collected as evidence.

In subsequent interviews, the affidavit stated that Collins admitted that he was there with the 14-year old boy and the two young girls, but he denied having sex with anyone.

Collins was arrested on Sunday, May 10th and he is currently free from the Sabine County Jail on a $100,000.00 bond after being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and unlawful restraint of a child
