John Jones was part of a recent discussion on border security that was aired on C-Span.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that John Jones, who was the chief of their Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division, has been fired after he was arrested in Travis County and charged with sexual assault.

Jones was arrested and fired on Tuesday following an investigation by both the Travis County Sheriff’s Department in Austin, and also the Texas Rangers.

No details about the sexual assault charge have been released. Meanwhile, news outlets in Austin were reporting that as of Wednesday morning, Jones remained behind bars under a $750,000.00 bond.
