Daily News & More is reporting that Sabine County Sheriff Tom Maddox has confirmed that one of his deputies has been placed on paid administrative leave as Texas Rangers investigate alleged improper behavior.
The deputy, David Boyd, also serves as Constable for Sabine County Precinct 1. He ran for and won election to that position last year.
It's not known if the alleged improper behavior occurred during his duties as a sheriff's deputy, or as a constable.
Sheriff Maddox said that he can't comment on the investigation, and he did not know how long it may take.
