As Kade Davis remains in the Jasper County Jail, deputies filed ten new criminal charges against him on Thursday.
Davis, who is 23 and from Lumberton, is accused of slamming head-on into a car driven by Laurie Beth Seehusen, 58, of Vidor, as he was fleeing from Jasper County deputies in a pickup truck that was stolen from the Golden Triangle. Seehusen died in the crash, which occurred on Thursday, July 15th, just north of Vidor.
Davis was originally charged with one count of Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle, and his bond was originally set at $150,000.00. His bond is now up to $315,000.00.
Davis is now charged with the following crimes:
~ Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
~ Assault of a Family/Household Member (with a previous conviction)
~ Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair
~ Evading Arrest or Detention (two counts)
~ Deadly Conduct
~ Possession of Marijuana
~ Criminal Trespassing of Habitat/Shelter/Superfund/Infrastructure
~ Violation of Bond/Protective Order
~ Theft of Property
Meanwhile, he still faces charges in Orange County in relation to the death of Seehusen. It’s expected that the Orange County District Attorney’s Office will take the case before the Grand Jury and seek an indictment, most likely on a charge of Manslaughter.
