A Polk County man is undergoing treatment following a collision with a delivery van that sent his pickup truck rolling over and landing in front of a business.
Emergency crews responded shortly before 2:00 Tuesday afternoon to Highway 190 West at Craig Street and arrived to find a pickup truck on its side in front of Kindred Hospice, and a FedEx delivery van with heavy front end damage nearby.
Jasper Police Sergeant Josh Hadnot said that 22-year-old Kobi Kade Evans, of Livingston, was driving his late model Chevrolet Silverado truck eastbound on Highway 190, while the FedEx van was on the crossover in the center of the highway.
Hadnot said the driver of the FedEx van, 30-year-old Juan Hernandez Garcia, of California, entered the eastbound lane and struck the driver side of the truck and sent it out of control off of the roadway. Jasper Fire Chief Jimmie Primrose said based upon the damage, he estimated that the pickup truck rolled over at least twice before coming to rest on the passenger side.
Evans had several cuts and bruises, but amazingly no obvious significant injuries. Garcia was not injured.
