No injuries resulted from a fire that occurred on Saturday afternoon east of Jasper.

The volunteers of both the East End and Jasper Fire Departments were dispatched to the location on County Road 276, shortly after 2:00 when it was reported that mobile home was on fire and arrived to find the structure completely engulfed in flames when some major parts of house already falling in. However, the firemen were able to keep the blaze from spreading to a nearby wooded area.

The fire apparently began when the owner of the property, Phil Grant, who was cleaning up around the home and had started a trash fire apparently went inside for a short time and later returned to find wind had caused the blaze to spread to the structure and an attached room.
