Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jamie Gunter says a small weekend brush fire was intentionally set. Firefighters responded to the blaze shortly before 3:00 Sunday afternoon on County Road 140 just off of Farm to Market Road 777.
Firefighters found the small fire at the bridge over Sandy Creek and quickly doused it.
Chief Gunter said a pile of cardboard boxes had been set ablaze, resulting in the nearby grass and brush to ignite.
Meanwhile, who set the fire or why is unknown.
