Texas Parks & Wildlife is investigating a case of unimaginable cruelty to an alligator, and they’re offering a reward of up to $1,000.00 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

According to Game Wardens, a 9 ½ foot alligator was found on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 1747 and 2799 in the Dixie Community, about 6 miles northwest of Jasper.

Information released by Texas Parks & Wildlife said that the alligator had been illegally captured and inhumanely treated when it was left to suffer alive after its tail was cut off.

If you have any information about the crime, you’re asked to call Texas Parks & Wildlife at 1-800-792-GAME (4263) or the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department at 409-384-5417. You do not have to give your name.
