The Jasper Independent School District has chosen current Director of Operations John Seybold as their lone finalist for the open Superintendent's position. The decision came in the form of a unanimous vote during a special called meeting of the board on Monday evening.
Board Member Vickie Stewart made the motion to select Seybold, and it was seconded by Board Member LeQuin Hilderbrand. There were no other motions for any other applicants for the job.
Seybold, who was not in attendance at the meeting, is a longtime employee of Jasper ISD and he was the Principal of Jasper Junior High School before his current position.
The Superintendent position was left vacant after the recent departure of former Superintendent Dr. Gerald Hudson, and Dr. Steve Hyden stepped in to serve as Interim Superintendent.
