Louisiana Governor John Bell Edwards has called for a statewide quarantine in place. The order goes into effect at 5:00 p.m. on Monday meaning that everyone in the Pelican State will have to stay home until further notice.

So far there are 763 positive cases and 20 deaths reported in the state with cases now confirmed in nearby Vernon and Beauregard Parishes.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins announced on Sunday that a quarantine in place order would be in effect there beginning at midnight on Monday.

The order basically means that individuals will only be allowed to leave their home if they are considered essential personnel. However, residents will be allowed to travel out for medicine or groceries.

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott said Sunday that he did not want to issue such an order but said that he was closely monitoring the situation.
