A Lumberton Walmart employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-quarantining while a Hardin County death is under investigation to determine if it's linked to the virus.

Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel confirms to KFDM Fox 4 a Lumberton Walmart employee who last worked March 16 tested positive for COVID-19.

“He never touched any buggies or equipment at the store,” said McDaniel. “The Hardin County Health Department is checking on his contacts and investigating to notify any contacts. It’s notifying all Lumberton Walmart employees and asking them to notify contacts. The man is self-quarantining.”

It is the 7th confirmed COVID-19 case in Hardin County. That includes four in Lumberton and three in Silsbee.
