Jasper Police said on Thursday that they have identified a suspect in a weekend hit and run case. Early Sunday morning, the driver of a Jeep Laredo crashed into an apartment at the Sweetbriar Apartment complex on Farm to Market Road 2800.

The vehicle crashed through a living room wall where just a few feet away Houston resident Paulette Collins was sleeping on a couch with her 6-month-old baby. Collins was visiting her aunt, who lives in the apartment. Fortunately, Collins and her baby were unharmed.

Collins said when the driver fled, the bumper of the vehicle was torn off, which identified it as being a Jeep Laredo.

According to Lieutenant Garrett Foster, Detective Joshua Hadnot has identified a suspect in the case and he is in the process of locating them to conduct an interview.
