The Better Business Bureau has issued an alert and advises caution for consumers about doing business with the company that provides cable television and internet services to Jasper.
According to the BBB, the alert concerns NewWave Communications and the consumer organization cites “pattern of complaint” as their reason for issuing the warning.
The BBB website states “Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with New Wave Communications. BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging inferior service, failure to correct billing errors, delays in responding to consumers in regards to making repairs and overall poor customer service”.
The website goes on to say “On November 16, 2018, BBB sent a letter with its concerns. The company did not respond”.
NewWave, which is headquartered in Sikeston, Missouri, maintained an office in Jasper until September of 2018 when it suddenly closed. Now, the closest NewWave office where a local consumer can go to and actually see and speak to an employee to conduct business is in Victoria, Texas – 230 miles southwest of Jasper.
