The Pineland Volunteer Fire Department has retired a 15-year-old homemade brush truck, and they recently took delivery of a brand new, state-of-the-art truck for fighting grass, brush, and woods fires.

The department says the heavy-duty custom made Ford will be their second brush truck in their fleet, and it was built by Wildfire Trucks in Alvarado, Texas.

According to department officials, funding for the truck came from the Keeler Foundation, TLL Temple Foundation, City of Pineland, Pineland Service Club, Sabine County Hospital District, and donations from the department’s supporters.
