Indictments released this week by the Sabine County District Clerk’s Office show that the Grand Jury there has again indicted a Jasper County businessman in relation to alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl.

Investigators noted in their original arrest reports that upon questioning, 67-year-old Billy Bob Bailey, of Brookeland, denied having sexual relations with the child, but admitted that he wanted to marry her if her mother would sign the necessary paperwork.

Bailey was arrested in September of 2020, and the following month he was indicted on charges of indecency with a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child, harassment, and criminal trespass.

He remains in the Sabine County Jail with bond set at $760,000.00.

Bailey was owner of Bailey & Son Roofing Company.
