Beech Grove firefighters, a TxDOT crew, and Jasper County deputies had their hands full dealing with this very large pine tree that fell across FM 777 about midway between Hwy 63 W and Hwy 190 W shortly before nightfall on Thu, Mar 26th, 2020.

Firefighters, state employees, and Jasper County deputies all worked together on Thursday evening to clear a very large pine tree that fell across a highway. It happened shortly before sunset on Farm to Market Road 777 about midway between Highway 63 West and Highway 190 west.

The Beech Grove Fire Department and the Texas Department of Transportation worked well into the night to safely cut the tree and remove it from the roadway, which proved to be a cumbersome job due to its size and also because it was not completely on the ground.

The roadway was reopened later that night.

Residents of that area later commented that they had noticed the tree leaning for some time and they feared that one day it would fall.
