Jasper County Judge Mark Allen announced late Sunday afternoon that Jasper County now has its first confirmed case of COVID-19, commonly known as Coronavirus.
According to Judge Allen, the patient is a 70-year-old man who is a resident of Jasper and he is currently hospitalized in the Golden Triangle.
Judge Allen said the man presented with possible Coronavirus symptoms at Jasper Memorial Hospital a few days ago and was tested for the illness, and that test came back positive on Sunday.
No other information is known about the man. KJAS News will update this story if and when new information becomes available.
