One person was seriously injured in a Thursday afternoon crash on Recreational Road 255 on the Sam Rayburn Dam. Lake Rayburn Fire Department and First Responders along with other emergency personnel were called out to the crash at about 3:30.

According to Sergeant Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the most seriously injured was 20-year-old Maegan Moorhead, of Jasper. Davis said Moorhead was driving eastbound in a 2003 Ford truck and came upon stopped traffic. However, Davis said Moorhead failed to control her speed and she crashed into the rear of 2014 Ford truck, which then crashed into the rear of a 2008 Toyota Tundra truck.

Moorhead was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Davis The driver of the 2008 Toyota truck, Roy Sanford, of Brookland, sustained injuries and drove himself to the hospital.

Davis said the driver of the 2014 Ford truck, Paul Davidson, of Jasper, and his passengers were not injured.
