A DeRidder couple is relieved after being cleared of charges in late 2019 that accused them of timber theft in Vernon Parish.

Ricky & Priscilla Cooley were arrested by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry following accusations from a landowner that they allegedly harvested timber on a 50 acre tract of land, concealed thirty-four additional loads of timber that they were not authorized to take, and did not make payment for the timber to the landowner.

However, the couple consistently maintained their innocence and eventually prosecutors agreed with them, dropping all charges and expunging their record.
