The Jasper/Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce says this year’s DAM2DAM Saddle & Paddle event went very well, in fact they report that there was a record number of participants.

In all, ninety-three people were either on bicycles or in kayaks as they either peddled or paddled theor way from start to finish.

For those riding bicycles on the local highways, traffic assistance was provided by the Jasper County Emergency Corps and Constable Jimmy Hensarling, and various rest stops along the way were manned by personnel from Mobiloil Federal Credit Union, CFHPA, Harbor Hospice, Infinity Tans and Tees, Provalus, and Chris & Julie Lanier of LRG.

Meanwhile, the popular local band JAG provided LIVE music at the event’s destination site, Martin Dies, Jr. State Park at Dam B.
