It was a close call for Wayne Noble on Sunday afternoon, when his truck apparently hit a slick spot in the roadway, causing the vehicle to slide sideways and turn over. Noble was shaken but not injured in the crash.

Noble, who is a resident of Jasper, said he was headed east on Highway 63, just past the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1738 in his 2004 Dodge pick up truck, when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle.

The volunteers of the East End Fire Department and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location shortly after 1:00 as rain and sleet fell in the area.

No fire resulted from the incident. The firefighters from the East End Fire Department assisted deputies from the Jasper County Sheriff's Department with traffic control.
