The City of Jasper is hosting a series of focus group “stakeholder interviews” as we begin a new project to create a Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Ordinance would provide more certainty to the citizens of Jasper as to where and how new developments take place, including apartments, offices, houses, and stores. Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC), our consultant for this project, will facilitate these meetings. These meetings will provide KKC an opportunity to talk with and hear from a wide variety of community leaders early in this project.

Through these informal sessions, our consultants will gain valuable insights into the current needs and priorities of our community as they relate to how zoning can help the City develop in the future. You do not need to prepare or bring anything to participate; just your awareness of our community’s assets and challenges.

We will conduct two of these small group sessions, each lasting approximately one hour, with one beginning at 9:30 AM and the other beginning at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, October 12th. You do not have to attend both meetings. Just pick the one that is more convenient for you.

We hope you’re able to participate in this very important first step in this project. If, however, you are unable to participate in this activity, other public involvement opportunities will occur in the coming months. If you have questions, please contact City Manager Denise Kelley at or 409-384-4651 for further information. We appreciate your interest in the future of Jasper and hope you will attend!
