The former Grapeland Chief of Police, who was fired last month after only 18 months on the job, is now in legal trouble after he was indicted by the Houston County Grand Jury on multiple felony charges.
KTRE 9 News in Lufkin is reporting that Kody Stephens, 34, is charged with Tampering with a Witness and Tampering with a Government Record. He’s currently free from jail on a $10,000.00 bond.
Stephens was terminated by the Grapeland City Council and documents from the mayor of the town said that it came after he was accused of not properly entering narcotics into evidence, not filling out police reports, not completing investigations, and most interestingly - misplacing a police car and forgetting its location.
Grapeland is 40 miles west-northwest of Lufkin.
