There were no injuries despite a compact car and an 18 wheeler getting tangled up early Wednesday afternoon west of Jasper. It happened at about 1:30 on Highway 63 West, between the Angelina River and Recreational Road 255.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis, 50-year-old Douglas Vance, of Orange, along with his dog, Bella, were traveling westbound in a late model Freightliner, owned by Vance Brothers Logistics, L.L.C., when they came upon a slow moving Mazda 3 passenger car, driven by Douglas Bruce, 58, of Zavalla.

Davis said as the truck driver began to pass the car, the car suddenly pulled into the path of the truck, causing damage to the driver’s side of the car.
