The Newton County Sheriff’s Department says the suspect in a Friday, January 17th stabbing death has now been charged.

According to Sheriff Billy Rowles, 36-year-old Laci Lynn Raymer is charged with murder after 37-year-old Keysha Lynn Hughes was stabbed to death.

Deputies responded shortly after 11:00 a.m. to a location on County Road 3144 in the Gist Community in far southwest Newton County when it was reported that an argument had turned violent. They arrived to find Hughes, a Mauriceville resident, was deceased.

Bond on Raymer has been set at $100,000.00.
