The owner of a vehicle that was stolen early Monday morning said Tuesday that her car was found near the Angelina River in northwest Jasper County.

Nina Bordelon, who lives at the corner of Beechwood and Dogwood Streets in the Walnut Run Subdivision in southeast Jasper, reported her white 2008 Nissan Sentra stolen.

According to Bordelon, she received a call from Leon Clark, the owner of Jasper Towing & Recovery, and he informed her that Jasper County deputies had recovered her car on County Road 100 in the Bevilport Community.

Jasper Police Captain Mike Poindexter said Monday that there were several auto burglaries that also occurred in the same neighborhood, along with a break-in at the nearby Bill L. Dover Company on South Wheeler Street. However, at last word police had not determined if the crimes were related.

Security cameras at different homes in the neighborhood captured images of two people walking around very early Monday morning. They appeared to be males and were wearing hoodies with their heads covered.
