As the record breaking 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season continues, we are again watching a potential system in the making. It came off the northwest coast of Africa and it’s currently the only tropical weather system in the Atlantic Basin.

As of Monday the system was located over the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean about 750 miles east of the Windward Islands and was headed westbound at about 15 miles-per-hour.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says that although the tropical wave is showing signs of organization, they are giving it a low chance of development over the next 5 days; forecasters noting that any development will be limited by strong upper-level winds.

Regardless, the system is being closely monitored by meteorologists.
