Three people were injured in a two vehicle auto accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon on Highway 190, just west of Jasper. The accident occurred shortly before 5:00, about 1 mile east of Dam B.

A witness to crash said he was traveling eastbound when he saw a white 1998 Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck coming straight at him in his lane. The witness said he managed to swerve out of the way, leaving the road to avoid a collision, but the driver behind him in a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz sedan didn't have enough time to react, and the car collided head-on with the pickup truck.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman David Hendrey later identified the driver of the car as 33-year-old Emmalee Hopkins, of Zavalla. However, DPS has not yet released the names of the driver of the truck or the passengers.

Highway 190 was blocked for some time as two medical helicopters landed in the highway and transported the victims to the hospital as workers cleared the the wreckage from the roadway.
